Dr. Jill Kitson, Rehabilitation Team / Emergency / Critical Care Team
Dr. Kitson graduated from Purdue University School of Veterinary Medicine in 2004. She worked as a primary care veterinarian in Columbia City for three years, before transitioning to emergency and critical care at NIVES in September 2007. She has a special interest in feline medicine. She is certified in canine rehabilitation through the Canine Rehabilitation Institute.
Dr. Kim Smith, Emergency / Critical Care Team
Dr. Smith received her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Iowa State University in 2007 with interests in small animal and equine medicine. After veterinary school, she entered private practice as a mixed animal veterinarian in the Fort Wayne area. She joined NIVES in December 2008, and has enjoyed the change to full time emergency medicine and critical care.
Dr. Jennifer Stresemann, Emergency / Critical Care Team
Dr. Stresemann has been practicing emergency and critical care medicine at NIVES since receiving her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Purdue University in 2006. She also spends time working as a veterinarian for Fort Wayne Animal Care and Control.
Dr. Karol Scott-Meyers, Emergency / Critical Care Team
Dr. Scott-Meyers received her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Purdue University in 1983. She practiced mixed animal medicine for 7 years and was in small animal general practice for 2 years. She has been practicing emergency and critical care medicine since 1991. In June 1996, Dr. Scott-Meyers joined the emergency team at NIVES.
Dr. Amy Totten, Internal Medicine
Dr. Amy Totten received her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Purdue University in 2003. She completed a one year rotating medicine and surgery small animal internship in Chicago. After her internship, from 2004 to 2005, Dr. Totten practiced as a veterinarian for St. Joe Center Veterinary Hospital. From 2005 to 2007, she pursued a small animal internal medicine residency at the University of Illinois. Dr. Totten completed her board certification exam in June 2008.
Dr. Bradley Coolman, Surgery Team
Dr. Coolman received his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Purdue University in 1992. He completed a one-year rotating small animal internship at Auburn University in 1993. From 1993-1996, Dr. Coolman served as the Chief of Surgery and Dentistry for the U.S. Army Military Working Dog Center in San Antonio, TX. In 1999, he completed a small animal surgery residency at the University of Illinois and achieved board certification as a Diplomat of the American College of Veterinary Surgeons.
Dr. Jongmin Kim, Surgery Team
Dr. Kim received his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Seoul National University College of Veterinary Medicine in South Korea in 1992. After becoming licensed in America, Dr. Kim completed a one-year internship at NIVES in 2002. Dr. Kim the entered a PhD program at Purdue University, where he studied neurological and orthopedic surgery, In February 2008, Dr. Kim began a 3-year small animal surgical residency under the supervision of Dr. Coolman and Dr. Rexing at NIVES.
Dr. Terry Grieshaber, Dermatology Team
Dr. Grieshaber received his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Purdue University in 1982. He completed a dermatology residency at the University of Minnesota and is board certified by the Americal College of Veterinary Dermatology. He practices veterinary dermatology at the Circle City Veterinary Specialty and Emergency Hospital in Indianapolis and is available at NIVES for dermatology consultations every other Thursday.
